Installation

Download the Plugin

Download Ultra Migration from WordPress.org or your purchase confirmation email (Pro version).

Upload to WordPress

Go to Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin and select the ZIP file.

Activate

Click Activate after installation. Find Ultra Migration in your admin menu.

Creating Backups

Ultra Migration creates complete backups including your database, plugins, themes, and media files.

Navigate to Backups

Go to Ultra Migration > Backups in your WordPress admin.

Click Create Backup

Click the Create Backup button to start the backup process.

Wait for Completion

The progress popup shows each step. Do not close the browser until complete.

Download Your Backup

Once complete, click the download button to save your .umigrate file.

Tip: Store backup files in a safe location outside your website, such as cloud storage or an external drive.

Restoring from Backup

Warning: Restoring will overwrite your current site. Make sure you have a backup of your current site before proceeding.

Restore from Existing Backup

Go to Backups Page

Navigate to Ultra Migration > Backups.

Find Your Backup

Locate the backup you want to restore from the list.

Click Restore

Click the Restore button and confirm the action.

Wait for Completion

Do not close the browser during restoration. This may take several minutes.

Restore from Uploaded File

To restore from a .umigrate file stored elsewhere:

Go to Import Page

Navigate to Ultra Migration > Import.

Upload Your Backup File

Drag and drop your .umigrate file or click to browse.

Confirm and Restore

The restoration will begin automatically after upload.

Export & Import

Exporting Your Site

Export creates a downloadable package of your entire WordPress site.

Go to Export

Navigate to Ultra Migration > Export.

Click Export Site

Click the button to start the export process.

Download the File

Save the .umigrate file to your computer.

Migration Tip: Export from your old site, then import to your new site. URLs are automatically replaced during import.

Find & Replace

Search and replace text across your entire database. Useful for URL changes and content updates.

Go to Find & Replace

Navigate to Ultra Migration > Find & Replace.

Enter Search Term

Type the text you want to find (e.g., old domain name).

Enter Replacement

Type the text you want to replace it with (e.g., new domain name).

Preview First

Click Preview to see how many matches will be affected.

Run Replacement

Click Replace All to apply changes. Create a backup first!

Important: Find & Replace changes are permanent. Always create a backup before running replacements.

How large can my backup be?
The free version supports restoring backups up to 512 MB. Pro version has no size limits.
Where are backups stored?
Backups are stored in wp-content/ultra-migration-backups/. This directory is secured with .htaccess protection.
Can I migrate to a different domain?
Yes! Ultra Migration automatically replaces URLs when you import to a new site. You can also use Find & Replace for additional URL changes.
How long does a backup take?
Backup time depends on your site size. Small sites take 1-2 minutes, while larger sites may take 10+ minutes.
What PHP version is required?
Ultra Migration requires PHP 7.2 or higher. PHP 8.0+ is recommended for best performance.
Is it compatible with my hosting?
Ultra Migration works with most WordPress hosts. It requires the ZIP PHP extension enabled.
What is the .umigrate file format?
The .umigrate format is Ultra Migration's proprietary backup format containing your database, files, and metadata in a compressed archive.
